Ben originally worked in a Front Office role at our sister property The Henry Jones Art Hotel in Hobart and transferred to Saffire as Guest Services Manager in November 2013.
“Since commencing my employment with the Federal Group I have continually been offered opportunities for training and career development, and most importantly the business is like one big family. After having just completed my first 12 months service at Saffire, I feel I have truly found a wonderful and world class team to be a part of where I am continually learning, engaged, and both highly valued and rewarded for my contribution. I started my hospitality career with the federal group at one of our sister properties, and within just over 12 months had been successful in receiving a promotion and completed my certificate 3 in Hospitality. Due to this encouraged training and advancement, I was then able to successfully apply to transfer to a more senior position of Guest Services Manager at Saffire where I am currently working. Saffire for me has been the most challenging role of my career to date, but that’s why I love it. There are no shortages of growth and learning opportunities at Saffire which is to me, why they are such a good employer. I’ve received more on the job training, than I ever anticipated. Also, the business is very flexible and accommodating. I’m from Hobart originally, and like to travel back to my home town on my days off. Saffire is very understanding of what’s important to me, therefore they go out of their way to look after me when it comes to rostering, therefore allowing me to maximise my time away on my days off. The people at Saffire are without a doubt the business’s most valuable asset, and I’m able to work with, and form friendships with a really amazing group of hard working people who love what they do, and who come from all over the world. In Summary, Saffire for me is the perfect place to up skill, learn, be challenged, and rewarded, all whilst working in a stunning facility on the edge of Australia’s First, (and in my opinion Most beautiful) national park.”
Commenced employment in 2012 for the summer season. Michelle left the hotel for a period of time and returned in 2013 in a permanent position as a Spa Therapist.
“I have worked at almost 10 Australian resorts, so I love the resort life; the beautiful surroundings, working with brilliant teams and the gift of meeting the most amazing guests from all over the world. Saffire is by far my favourite resort. It is the one I have returned to, the one I have worked at the longest and the one I am settling in. I love the Saffire life.”
