Travelling as a family or group? From December 2026, The Jewel will provide a three-bedroom villa with elevated service and amenities and experiences, plus full access to Saffire’s experiences, offering ultimate privacy and space for shared moments.

Every suite at Saffire has been individually designed to maximise privacy and capture its own unique aspect of the Hazards Mountains and Great Oyster Bay. While perspectives vary from suite to suite, all offer expansive views of the surrounding landscape.

All suites feature views of the Hazards Mountains. If you have a preferred suite location or outlook, please let our team know at the time of booking. While specific suites cannot be guaranteed, we’ll do our best to accommodate requests (subject to availability).

Our suites are designed first and foremost as spaces of calm and connection, which is perfect for two guests. If you’re travelling with children, or require a special arrangement, please reach out to our reservations team.

From late 2026, The Jewel will open as a three-bedroom villa, ideal for families or groups seeking a private sanctuary while enjoying full access to Saffire’s lodge amenities and experiences.

Currently, Saffire’s suites are designed primarily as private sanctuaries for two or three guests, offering seclusion and tranquillity. From late 2026, Saffire will introduce The Jewel — a three‑bedroom luxury villa created specifically for families, multi‑generational travellers, and small groups. The Jewel will offer:

  • Complete privacy, with its own distinct aspect

  • Three master bedrooms and generous shared living spaces

  • 800 m2 of expansive indoor and outdoor areas including an 18m infinity pool and jacuzzi

  • BBQ terrace

  • Luxury Jewel concierge team

  • Private guide

  • Full access to all Saffire experiences and lodge inclusions

Until the Saffire Jewel opens, guests travelling with children or groups can speak with our reservations team to explore tailored arrangements.

Private Pool Pavilions each have their own plunge pool. These pavilions have been designed as the most secluded spaces within the lodge, featuring:

  • A private courtyard

  • A plunge pool exclusively for your use

  • Separate bedroom and dining areas

  • Thoughtfully crafted design that ensures complete privacy

From late 2026, the Jewel will have its own infinity pool, jacuzzi, BBQ terrace and generous outdoor living space.

Dining is a special part of the Saffire experience. Palate Restaurant offers refined, all-inclusive dining and beverages with views across Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards Mountains. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here each day, with menus that evolve daily to highlight Tasmania’s freshest seasonal produce. Otherwise The Lounge offers canapés and drinks in a more relaxed setting. Guests can also choose to dine in-suite for privacy and flexibility.

At Palate, we offer both. Explore a variety of à la carte options, or enjoy a thoughtfully prepared degustation menu with paired wines that reflects the best of Tasmania’s local and seasonal produce.

Dining is exclusively for in‑house guests. You won’t be seated with other guests unless requested. Private dining can be arranged in‑suite or at a special private location on the property (subject to availability and weather conditions).

Planning Your Journey

Getting to Saffire

Most guests fly into Hobart or Launceston, with daily flights from major centres such as Melbourne and Sydney. Hobart Airport features a dedicated Saffire Airport Lounge. Driving time is approximately 2.5 hours from Hobart and just under 2 hours from Launceston. You’re welcome to self-drive, or we can arrange a private car or luxury chauffeured service. Helicopter transfers from Hobart, taking under 45 minutes, are also available and offer spectacular coastal views.

Yes. At Hobart Airport, the Saffire team will meet you on arrival and guide you to our Airport Lounge, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. Lounge hosts can assist with baggage and onward transport arrangements. Please ask about the lounge when booking.

No, it is not automatically included. We can organise private chauffeured vehicles from Hobart or Launceston at an additional charge. Helicopter transfers can also be arranged in advance for an additional charge. If you decide to self-drive, you can collect the keys to your hire car from our Airport Lounge. Please ask about your options at the time of booking.

Yes. Many guests choose to drive themselves and enjoy the scenic journey along Tasmania’s east coast. Complimentary on-site parking is available at the lodge.

Yes. Helicopter transfers from Hobart can include scenic detours over Wineglass Bay and the Hazards Mountains. Seaplane arrivals may also be possible through specialised providers, although helicopter transfers are the most commonly preferred option.

Freycinet has a relatively temperate climate. Summer (December-February) is warm and dry, averaging 22–25 °C. Autumn (March-May) features crisp air and changing colors. Winter (June-August) is fresh and cool with days averaging 12–14 °C. Spring (September-November) brings wildflowers and gradually warming weather.

Late spring (October to November) and early autumn (March to April) generally offer the most consistently mild and pleasant conditions, featuring fewer crowds and beautiful scenery.

Some experiences shift with the seasons. Most signature activities run year-round, but weather and seasonal changes can influence wildlife sightings, outdoor excursions, or food-based experiences. A tailored activity schedule is shared on arrival. Saffire After Dark is well suited for the cooler months when clear dark skies provide the perfect conditions for stargazing.
