Guests can view Tasmanian devils in a protected private enclosure and observe Bennett’s wallabies and pademelons across the grounds.
As dusk falls, the landscape comes alive, offering the best chance to encounter these species and, on occasion, glimpse the elusive spotted quoll or common wombat.

Sea
The waters of Freycinet are alive with movement. Fur seals can be seen playing among their offshore islands, while dolphins chase boats and fish through the bay. During migration, humpback and southern right whales pass by, and beneath the surface, rays move quietly through the water.
Guests can experience this connection in their own way, from walking barefoot along the shoreline and feeling the ocean at their feet, to venturing out by boat to explore more remote stretches of coastline. Each approach brings a different perspective, whether grounded in stillness or shaped by the movement and energy of the sea itself.

Sky
Birdlife moves through the landscape with ease. White-bellied sea eagles soar overhead, albatross follow the coastline, and hooded plovers gather along the shore, while yellow-tailed black cockatoos call through the trees.
Shaped by the east coast’s temperate climate, seasonal change brings remarkable clarity. Cooler months offer crisp air, and on rare occasions, the Aurora Australis appears along the horizon.
Above the Hazards, the sky shifts with the day, as sunrise and sunset unfold in layered colour across granite peaks and water below. Simply observing these moments, whether from your room, the Lounge or Palate restaurant, offers a chance to slow and reset.
