Currawong Fly Fishing

Currawong Lakes, 1.5 hours from Saffire, offers one of Tasmania’s most quietly celebrated wilderness settings for private guided dry fly fishing. Set across three pristine lakes, populations of wild Brown and Rainbow Trout, and exceptional hatches of insect life, create a thrilling challenge for novice and experienced anglers alike.

Renowned for its prolific hatches of aquatic and terrestrial insects most notably Red Spinners from late October through to the end of the Tasmanian trout season in March – the experience responds intuitively to shifting wind and weather, ensuring access each day. Experienced or not, this is a relaxed, safe and rewarding offering to this timeless pursuit.

You can also take to one of Australia’s premier clay target shooting ranges, where skill meets open space in a setting that feels both relaxed and assured.
