There is much to love about winter in Tasmania. Spend a week indulging in luxury, immersing yourself in secluded wilderness, and savouring the local flavours of the season.

Begin your journey in Hobart with a stay at MACq 01 Hotel, a luxury waterfront hotel in the city’s prime location. Offering sweeping views of the harbour and kunanyi / Mount Wellington, you can enjoy the best of the city’s rich culture, natural beauty and culinary delights.

The following morning, you’ll be picked up from MACq 01 and transferred to Triabunna Wharf to travel to Maria Island for the Winter Escape Walk. Here, you will spend three days exploring pristine beaches, tall ancient forests and world heritage sites teeming with wildlife. The amount of activity is up to you – from walking to the island summit or a relaxed pace amongst the free-roaming wildlife. 

Your evenings will be spent at the historic Bernacchi House in Darlington, the only heritage-listed house in a Convict World Heritage area. At the end of the day, relax and unwind in pure comfort on the verandah or in front of the fire. Your stay is inclusive of all meals, snacks and beverages for the entire duration and is fully hosted by private guides.

Your adventure will continue beyond Maria Island back on the Tasmanian mainland with a road transfer to Saffire Freycinet. Situated on the edge of Tasmania’s Freycinet National Park, Across two nights, enjoy all-inclusive experiences to discover the area’s incredible natural wonders, people and produce. Take a guided hike through the pristine wilderness, explore the secluded coves along Great Oyster Bay, or book yourself a restorative treatment at Spa Saffire. 

After your stay at Saffire Freycinet, you’ll then be transported back to Hobart. Here, you’ll say goodbye as you’re dropped off at Hobart Airport, or you have the option to add on an additional night back where it all began at MACq 01 Hotel.

  • Departures require a minimum of four guests. Trips will be confirmed 60 days prior to arrival. If Wild Bush Luxury cancels a departure, guests can keep or modify their stay with Saffire and MACq 01. Any changes with 30 days will incur a $300 change fee per property. The Maria Island Walk

Payments

For bookings made outside of 60 days prior to arrival, a 20% deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment must be made 60 days prior to guests’ arrival.
For bookings made within 60 days of arrival, full payment must be made at the time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Notice of a cancellation of one or more guests must be provided in writing. Email our reservations team at mariaisland@wildbushluxury.com
Cancellation notifications received 90 days or more: deposit will be refunded less a $50 admin fee and any credit card charges
Cancellation notifications received 61-89 days prior: loss of deposit
Cancellation notifications received within 60 days of departure 100% of total contracted package will be retained.
No refunds will be given in the event of non-arrival, any unused services or unused nights due to flight / weather disruption.

Cancellations by Maria Island Walk

MIW reserves the right to cancel any trip, due to sea conditions, low guest numbers or other circumstances out of its control. We care about our guests’ holiday and value your decision to travel with us. In the rare case of cancellations, we will attempt to accommodate you on new dates. A full refund on monies received will be issued when a suitable alternative is not available. MIW will not be responsible for reimbursement of cost of flights, accommodation, hire car, meals or any other incidental costs which are or may be incurred in relation to the cancelled trip.

Saffire Freycinet

General Terms

All accommodation is subject to availability. All tours are subject to availability, minimum participation requirements & prevailing weather conditions at the time of operation.

Change fee Option

Reservations inside of the rate type terms and conditions may be entitled to a date change for a change fee. A change fee is applicable per date change, must be paid and a new date applied at the time of the change. Change is subject to availability, room rate increases may apply and any rate decrease will be forfeited. Reservations and Change fees are non-refundable. A change fee/date change does not apply within 24 hours prior to arrival.

Standard Cancellation Policies

Please note all accommodation bookings, cancelled or amended, are subject to the following:

Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
Cancellations within 30 days of arrival forfeit the full deposit.
Cancellations and amendments are to be made by notifying Saffire at any time on 1800 SAFFIRE (1800 723 347) or by sending an email to reservations@saffire-freycinet.com.au
A cancellation number must be obtained.
Special Packages that are prepaid at the time of booking which are non-refundable and cannot be amended or cancelled.
Please note, it is highly recommended to have an up-to-date travel insurance policy which covers Covid-19 when travelling to or around Australia.
