Currawong Fly Fishing and Clay Shooting

One of Tasmania’s great wilderness properties, located 1.5 hours from Saffire, Currawong Lakes, provides its guests with a premium, guided dry fly-fishing experience. The property boasts exceptional hatches of aquatic and terrestrial insect life. Dry fly fishing is available on most days at a location on one of three lakes, whatever the wind direction or weather conditions. Of particular note are the hatches of Red Spinners which start regularly in late October and continue on until the end of the Tasmanian trout season in late March. While this particular spot is known by keen anglers worldwide, this is a unique opportunity to learn how to fly fish in a fun and safe environment.

You can also test your aim at one of Australia’s premier clay target shooting ranges. It is suitable for all levels – from beginner to expert.
